B.B. Harris Receives Award Certificate From Georgia
Department of Education
The
number of students eating at school continues to increase every year.
This means that our students are receiving nutritious, well-balanced
meals every day. The Georgia DOE recently saluted the Gwinnett
County School Nutrition Program for what it has done to reach
out to our students and families about making healthy choices in the
foods they eat.
The Georgia DOE awarded 33 Gwinnett County Schools with Certificates
of Accomplishments to those schools whose number of students chose
to eat breakfast and/or lunch at school during the 2007-08 school
year. B.B. Harris Elementary received the award because our participation was
higher then the state average of students eating in the cafeteria. The state
averages were 34% for breakfast and 75% for lunch.
